RF Skin Tightening

Discover the Skin Tightening and Firming Properties of Radio frequency Treatments Radio Frequency is a non-surgical treatment that addresses skin laxity on the face and body. Radio Frequency, also referred to as RF, is a fantastic treatment for tightening loose or sagging skin on any area of the body to produce firmer, more youthful looking skin.

How does RF work?

RF works by generating heat and applying it to the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin. The heat causes tissue retraction, resulting in instantly tighter and firmer skin. It also works to stimulate collagen production which over time produces a more youthful looking appearance. The technology uses advanced science to tighten skin and contour the body, doing away with loose and sagging skin.

Radio frequency for Long Term Skin Tightening Radio frequency uses radio wave energy to stimulate skin elasticity processes lifting sagging skin, firming ageing skin and tightening the skin’s layers. Radio waves transmitted through the upper layers of skin gently heat the dermal layer of the skin, slightly above the body’s natural temperature.

This activates the dermis cells causing:Immediate tissue retraction–collagen fibers deep within the skin retract, instantly tightening the skin. Formation of new collagen–the heated dermis stimulates collagen production for long term skin tightening and toning. The process goes on for up to three months after treatment. Improved blood flow–Radio waves boost blood and lymphatic flow to improve oxygen supply and toxin clearance for well-nourished, healthier, younger skin.

Which areas of the body can RF treat?

RF can effectively treat the entire body depending on your skin concern.

  • Tightens and lifts loose or sagging skin around the jowls, neck, chin
  • Tightens tummy, buttocks, thighs, arms and legs
  • Tightens, smoothes and improves facial skin tone to reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduces and smoothes the appearance of cellulite and uneven skin tone
  • Firms ageing skin, including décolleté, to produce a more youthful appearance

Treatment protocol

Generally RF treatments last between 10-40 minutes, depending on the area of concern.

The may mark the area to be treated and glycerine is the applied.  Upon application of the RF, a warm sensation will be felt, similar to having a hot stone massage.

The therapist will continuously monitor the skin's temperature, where it will need to reach a minimum of 39-42 degrees.  This can sometimes be unpleasantly hot on the face.

Once the treatment has been completed, the area treated will be cleansed and SPF sun block moisturiser will be applied.

What to expect

Tissue retraction- the heat causes temporary local contraction of the collagen fibers, which immediately tightens the skin to reveal a lifted, tighter and more youthful appearance.

New collagen formation- heating the dermis stimulates production of new collagen and elastin over 60-90 days resulting in plumper, firmer skin with a greater level of elasticity.

Improved circulation- RF also improves the blood and lymphatic flow.  This helps induce a better oxygen supply and greater toxin clearance

What does the treatment feel like?

RF is a painless treatment and most clients will experience zero discomfort. Some find the warm sensation relaxing.

Can I get on with my day after treatment?

You sure can!

Rf has been clinically proven to be effective and is non-surgical and non-invasive.

Post treatment some clients may experience redness immediately post treatment, but this typically subsides not long after treatment. As there is no downtime, you can get on with your day as usual.

Although exercise, swimming, spas and anything that involves increasing your body temperature, should be avoided for 24-48 hours.

If necessary, once home, you may apply aloe vera gel or cool packs to draw out the residual heat or redness that you may be experiencing.

You may wear a mineral based foundation to conceal any redness.

How many treatments will I need?

This will all depend on your individual situation, and we will carefully assess this for you during your consultation. Some clients may only need 4 treatments, while other may require 6 or 8 to achieve brilliant results.

The skin needs approximately 3-5 days to recover from the effects caused by the treatment, so intervals of 1-4 weeks between each treatment, is recommended.

FACE: 6-8 treatments

BODY: 8-10 treatments

Maintenance treatments if your skin requires, thereafter.

The number of treatments and results will vary depending on the client:

  • AGE
  • DIET & LIFESTYLE (smoking,sun exposure habits, nutrition,sleep etc)
  • HEALING ABILITY
  • SKIN CARE REGIME
  • AREA OF CONCERN AND SEVERITY OF LOOSE SKIN

When will I start seeing results?

When it comes to the tightening and lifting effect of RF, it can produce instant results. You will notice immediate improvements to your skin tone that will just get better with each session. The collagen remodeling aspect of RF takes a little more time and you will reach full benefits of the collagen stimulation around 3 months after treatment.

Radio Frequency treatment is ideal for adults of all ages, with any skin colour, who would like to improve       mild to moderate sagging of facial tissue or prevent the onset of ageing concerns.
